Brattleboro Bears alum Owen Malouin has been selected as one of two goalies for the Adirondack Jr. Wings at the prestigious Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. This young athlete, who previously shined with the Brattleboro Hockey Association Hawks, is not only a standout on the ice with a remarkable record but also a dedicated student, currently excelling at The Bement School. As he prepares to play before thousands of fans in Quebec City, the entire Brattleboro community is cheering him on!

In a nail-biting game on January 28, the Brattleboro Bears fell to St. Johnsbury 5-4, despite a valiant effort that saw them rally from a two-goal deficit in the third period. Senior Gabe Alexander shone with two goals, while freshman Jordan Denny and sophomore Max Madow contributed crucial plays to tie the game before a late shorthanded goal sealed their fate. Coach Eric Libardoni praised the team's resilience, noting they're just a few plays away from victory and remain competitive in every matchup.

In a tough matchup on Wednesday night, the Brattleboro Bears fell to the Burr & Burton Bulldogs, with a final score of 76-47. Despite the loss, standout performances from Noah Moore and Dawson Wheeler, who both hit crucial three-pointers, showcased the resilience of our student-athletes. The Bears continue to build their strength as they prepare to face Hartford on Monday, demonstrating their determination to improve this season.

The Vermont Sports Hall of Fame has announced its 2026 inductees, including Susan Dunklee, an accomplished Olympic biathlete and daughter of Brattleboro's own Stan Dunklee, a cross-country skiing icon. This induction not only celebrates the rich sports heritage of our community but also serves as inspiration for current Brattleboro Bears, reminding them of the heights they can achieve in their athletic pursuits.
