In an exciting home opener, the Brattleboro Bears triumphed over Twin Valley with a commanding 63-44 victory, showcasing a balanced offensive effort as ten players contributed to the score. Alexx Labounty and Alto Purdy led the team with ten points each, while head coach Tyler Boone praised the group's resilience following a challenging start to the season. With their next game against Otter Valley on the horizon, the Bears are eager to keep the momentum going and delight their fans!

In a heartfelt tribute to Vermont's rich baseball history, Dana Sprague, a BUHS graduate, is documenting the stories of every Vermonter who has played professionally, showcasing talents from Brattleboro and beyond. With 164 players chronicled, including notable achievements from alumni like Brad Baker and John Foley, Sprague’s project highlights the resilience and passion of those who have graced the diamond before. Current Brattleboro Bears, like aspiring prospect Kaiden McCarthy, continue this legacy, promising a bright future for baseball in our community.

This season, the Brattleboro Bears girls tennis team welcomes Mora Butcher as their new head coach, bringing her extensive playing background to guide the team. With a mix of seasoned players and new talent, including senior Vivian Elliott likely leading as the No. 1 singles player, Butcher aims to foster individual growth and teamwork. The Bears are set to kick off their season against Rutland on April 13, promising an exciting year ahead for Brattleboro student-athletes!

The Brattleboro Bears boys tennis team, under the guidance of Coach Ben Brewer, is gearing up for an exciting season despite a smaller roster this year. With seven returning players, including seniors Mark Richards and Elias Frazer Olsen, the team is focused on sharpening their skills and building a strong lineup. As they prepare to face formidable opponents like Burr & Burton and Middlebury, the Bears aim to develop both their competitive edge and teamwork, fostering growth among veteran and new players alike.

Join us this Saturday at Bromley Mountain for Medals in the Mountains, a celebration of local heroes and youth sports! Featuring Olympic silver medalist Ben Ogden alongside Brattleboro's own Bill Koch, this event honors the achievements of our own Brattleboro Bears while supporting young athletes in our community. Enjoy an afternoon of fun with food, live music, and a chance to meet these remarkable athletes as we kick off the season and applaud the spirit of sports in Brattleboro!

The Twin Valley Unified basketball team kicked off their season with a thrilling 34-32 victory against Otter Valley, marking their first win in over a year.
