The Brattleboro Bears girls hockey team is gearing up for an exciting season, building on a strong finish from last year, where they won two out of their last three games. With a roster featuring both returning players and promising newcomers, head coach Alyssa Leonard emphasizes teamwork and effort, aiming to leverage their chemistry for improved performance on the ice. As they prepare to host Harwood in their season opener, the Bears are focused on capitalizing on scoring opportunities and enhancing their conditioning to maximize their potential.

Brattleboro Bears gathered for an afternoon of joy and ice skating at the Nelson Withington Skating Facility on December 6, 2025. Community members enjoyed the festive atmosphere, showcasing the spirit and camaraderie of local athletes and alumni, who continue to make Brattleboro proud both on and off the ice. Join us in celebrating the active engagement of our BUHS students in the community!

In an exciting display of local talent, Brattleboro's men's basketball league showcased impressive performances on December 7, with standout plays from several former BUHS athletes. Notably, Kyle Henry led the Elks with 25 points, while Ian Fulton-Black dominated for King's Electric with 29. As the Brattleboro Bears continue to inspire local pride, their alumni shine brightly on the court, elevating the spirit of community sports in Brattleboro.

Brattleboro senior forward Reese Croutworst has made history as the first female soccer player from Brattleboro Union High School to be named to the United Soccer Coaches All-New England team, along with a first team Burlington Free Press all-state selection. Croutworst, who concluded her stellar soccer career as the Bears' all-time leading scorer with 80 goals, was instrumental in helping the team achieve a record-tying 11 wins this season and secure their first playoff victory since 2007. As she transitions to the basketball court, we look forward to her continuing to shine for the Brattleboro Bears.

As temperatures plunge in Brattleboro, the dedicated volunteers at Brattleboro Ski Hill have kicked off the snow-making season, utilizing newly acquired equipment to prepare the hill for winter fun. With a hopeful eye on a Christmas Eve opening, the Brattleboro Bears can look forward to an exciting season ahead, thanks to community support and innovative upgrades. This winter, the local sports spirit shines bright as student-athletes gear up for thrilling snowy adventures!
