The Brattleboro Bears are geared up for an exciting basketball season, bringing back nine experienced players, including Mason Andrews and Tyson LaFarr, while welcoming nine newcomers eager to make their mark. The recent 24 Hours of Stratton event, held at Stratton Mountain Resort, saw an astounding record of $465,859 raised to support essential programs for children in southern Vermont, showcasing the dedication of our community. Local athletes, including Brattleboro Bears, participated in this incredible endurance challenge, bringing together nearly 900 participants for a cause that truly makes a difference. This milestone year highlights the ongoing commitment of Brattleboro to empower youth, with over $4 million raised since the event's inception in 2012.

Ayoub Lajhar, a former standout at Brattleboro Union High School, has made waves in Major League Soccer after being drafted by FC Cincinnati. His journey from Libya to Brattleboro highlights the resilience and support of the local community, which played a crucial role in shaping his success both on and off the field. After excelling in college soccer at UConn, Lajhar's impressive debut—contributing two assists in a recent match—has marked him as a rising star in professional soccer, inspiring current Brattleboro Bears with his dedication and ambition.

In girls soccer, Reese Croutworst, Sadie Cheslawski, and Naima Harris proudly represented BUHS on the A Division first team, while Jay Cudworth was named coach of the year after leading the Bears to a historic playoff win.
