The No. 8 Brattleboro Bears girls basketball team triumphed over No. 9 Colchester with a thrilling 55-47 victory, securing their spot in the D1 quarterfinals. Senior Parker Thibault led the Bears with 14 points, supported by fellow seniors Reese Croutworst and Destiny Thibault, showcasing the strength and determination of Brattleboro athletes. As they prepare for a challenging match against top-seeded Mount Mansfield, the Bears continue to demonstrate resilience and teamwork on their journey through the playoffs.

The Brattleboro Bears gymnastics team achieved an impressive third-place finish at the Vermont state championship meet, with standout Lauren Chute leading the charge. Chute clinched the beam title and earned top five finishes in three other events, concluding with a strong all-around performance, placing second for the third consecutive year. With a team score of 134.975, Brattleboro is poised to continue building on this success as they enter their third season as a varsity program.

In a thrilling matchup, the Brattleboro Bears defeated the Bellows Falls Terriers 78-51 on senior night, showcasing their determination and skill as they build momentum for the postseason. Junior Dawson Wheeler led the Bears with 19 points, while sophomores Kaden Cole and Jacob Kissell contributed significantly, sealing the team’s strong performance. As the Bears continue to sharpen their gameplay, their unity and resilience reflect the spirit of Brattleboro athletics, promising an exciting finish to the season.

The No. 8-ranked Bears will host No. 9 Colchester in the play down round this Wednesday at 6 p.m., aiming for a victory that would propel them into the quarterfinals against top-seeded Mount Mansfield. In a spirited effort during Pink the Rink night, the Brattleboro Bears faced a tough loss against Stowe, finishing 7-1. Junior Jaidyn Denny scored the Bears' lone goal late in the game, while Dakota VonFeldt showcased her skills with an impressive 74 saves, including 22 back-to-back in the third period. Despite the defeat, the Bears demonstrated resilience, creating numerous offensive opportunities, and are eager to close the season strong in their final games.

On senior night, the Brattleboro Bears girls basketball team secured a hard-fought 53-44 victory against the Bellows Falls Terriers, showcasing strong performances from seniors Reese Croutworst and Parker Thibault, who scored 17 and 13 points, respectively. With a well-rounded effort that featured contributions from seven different players, the Bears demonstrated their grit as they prepare for the Division 1 tournament. Brattleboro Union High School students are encouraged to enrich their skills by participating in the RowBOC Learn-to-Row Clinic starting June 8, where they can master rowing techniques in a supportive environment along the picturesque West River. Since 2008, this clinic has empowered aspiring rowers to gain confidence on the water while forging lasting connections with fellow participants.

Despite a challenging loss against Monadnock, Brattleboro Union High School's softball team showcased resilience and teamwork, with standout performances from senior Rose Stone and junior Sal North, who both contributed to the Bears' scoring efforts.
